Comparisons

We just finished a project using Animoto. We used this to help compare two things to each other.  I enjoyed learning from the slide show instead of a lecture because we had a place to go back and look at what we needed, when we wanted to. I also enjoyed using the Animoto website because it was a fun way to learn, but yet still use the correct form of sentences. I hope to do another project like this again soon.

Creative Commons

I understand why we have to use Creative Commons online. If I was a photographer, I would be upset if I did not get credit for the pictures I had taken. Therefore I like using Creative Commons, and respect the fact that we do use it. Creative Commons is a way to search for pictures online, while we are also able to give the photographer credit for the picture we choose to use. At first, it is a little hard to understand how to use, because you have so many options to choose from. I found using Creative Commons very sourceful as well as helpful. I enjoy using Creative Commons, and plan to use it on future blogs.

Mi Universidad

Mi universidad favorita es TCU  porque ellos tienen un buen equipo de fútbol americano, pero me gustaría asistir a  U.T. Tyler. Pienso ser farmacéutica en el futuro. Me encantaría lograr mis objetivos por mantener la concentración y estudiar mucho.

My First Semester Blogging Experience

I enjoyed working with my blog this past semester. The difference between blogging and just using Facebook or texting, is that when blogging you have to seem more professional. You have to make sure you spell correctly, and you can not abbreviate as much. Many people see this as school related and you want to make a good first impression. I like how we are able to embed our work on our blog, because it gives others a chance to see how much we have learned and what we are currently learning. I am all for people commenting on my blog. It makes me feel accomplished when i get compliments, and i like to hear others opinions about my work. I feel blogging could be beneficial in the future because one of my jobs in the future might require my to use something similar to our blog. In the second semester i hope to continue using our blogs, and that we do even more work with them and the computer.

Mi Rutina Diaria

What We Learned

In this last six weeks, we learned how to use reflexive verbs in spanish dealing with peoples daily routines. We used them in sentences along with our newly learned vocabulary and grammer.

How We Made Our Avatars

We were required to use our avatars from the Voki website to discuss our daily routine for getting ready for school. The process wasn’t difficult, it just required quiet a few steps.

  • We wrote a rough draft
  • Had to get it checked by our teacher
  • Our teacher showed us our mistakes but didn’t tell us how to correct them
  • We then had to correct it and get it checked again
  • After it was mistake free we practiced our pronunciation
  • We then used our cell phone to call into the Voki website and followed the steps on the phone to record our voice.
  • Once it was recorded we e-mailed it to our teacher and our avatar was complete!

This project counts as our six weeks test grade.

Was It Valuable?

I personally enjoyed this project. We were allowed to use websites in order to create it. I think i enjoyed it because we were not used to using the computer and things to do a project, normally its on paper. It was a great expirienc, and also very fun. I would much rather do this that stand in front of the class and present my script. I think this was valuable because it gave me a chance to hear myself speak in spanish. I hope we do this again.

Verb Tense Review

The first six weeks we reviewed present tense, present proggresive, tener que, and immediate future. Present tense is used in the “is happening” form. Present proggressive is used for “ing” form. Tener que is used for “having to”, and immediate future is “going to do something”. We used pictures and sentences on the Stixy website using these four verb tenses. Here is my Stixy Board.
